This was an assignment to do an illustration based on one of the four senses. I chose to illustrate someone’s first shot. I liked this composition because it felt disorienting; like how a punch in the face or a shot might make you feel. I put most of my time into sketching and making sure you could feel the strength of the shot through the expression in the face and the trajectory of the punch. I worked in built up acrylic washes on Bristol board.
